Chick-fil-A Rockford Family Nights

By Alex Emenecker, Chick-fil-A team member October 18, 2016
Restoration.  Just a few weeks ago this was just another word to me.  It was not something that I desired or sought after in any way.  Now, it is my mission.  I work at Chick-fil-A Rockford, and I was recently inspired by the leadership at the restaurant who want their team members to join them in their mission to restore people.

At first I had doubted that a restaurant could do any kind of marvelous restoration, at least not the kind that can really make a difference.  Then a team leader shared a story of his off-the-clock kindness and generosity towards a homeless man from our community.  With the help of some good Chick-fil-A food, a friendship was formed that resulted in the man reconnecting with his family and no longer living on the street.

We realize that our food restores people’s bodies.  Food is essential to keeping our bodies healthy and strong. However, the restoration we seek goes deeper than WHAT we serve our guests.  It is more about HOW we serve them.  We realize that life is hard and horrible things happen.  We all have bad days.  Things go wrong, cars break down, kids get sick, people treat you badly, and you get tired.  You need to be restored every once and a while.  We want Chick-fil-A to be the place where you can forget your bad day.  We want to be the place where you are treated with respect and guaranteed a smile.

We mean it when we say that it is our pleasure to serve you.  To our team, working at Chick-fil-A is more than just a job.  We truly desire for you to leave feeling cared for, refreshed, and restored.

At Chick-fil-A Rockford we are always looking for new ways to restore our guests.  We now have a program to restore our littlest customers, and their moms and dads too!  We know how important family is, but we understand how difficult it can be to find quality family time with busy school and work schedules, and that is exactly why we now host Family Night.

Every Tuesday night, from 5-7 pm, we invite kids 13 years old and younger to join us for Family Night.  There is a special activity each week and children will receive a free cookie or IceDream cone for participating.  The themes for each night are as follows:

  • 1st Tuesday:  Chick-fil-A BINGO with the Cow (and yes, there will be prizes!)
  • 2nd Tuesday:  Balloon Art – don’t worry the cow will not be making any balloon animals; we will leave that to our friends from RC Juggles.
  • 3rd Tuesday:  Chick-fil-A Kid’s Club – Kid’s Club member will learn a new value and earn a stamp for their Kid’s Club passport.  These values include:  generosity, kindness, courtesy and the many more traits that we embrace here at Chick-fil-A.
  • 4th Tuesday:  We are happy to partner with our friends from the Rockford community.  The Discovery Center, Lowe’s and Macaroni Kid will all take turns providing fun-filled workshops.
Family night is our way of restoring, encouraging, and investing in the families of our community.  We hope you can come – let us serve you…enjoy some delicious food…join in on the fun…and spend valuable time with your family.
